The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a recording of the heart’s current curve, i.e. the activities of the heart. Sensors stuck to the patient’s chest, arms and legs record the electrical impulses that the heart emits when it contracts. An ECG is usually performed in the resting position within a few minutes and is not associated with any pain or discomfort.
